How it works

Record audio in your browser in four steps

Capture a quick voice note, interview, or clean audio take without sending microphone data to a server.

  1. 01
    Enable your microphone.

Allow access when your browser asks. The spectrum then shows your live input.

  2. 02
    Choose where to save.

Select a folder in supported desktop browsers. Other browsers use their normal download flow.

  3. 03
    Select WAV or MP3.

WAV keeps uncompressed audio; MP3 creates a smaller file that is easy to share.

  4. 04
    Record, pause, and save.

Use the controls or keyboard shortcuts. Canceling discards the current take.

01 / Privacy

Keep voice recordings private

Microphone audio is captured and encoded in your browser. Nanomite does not upload or store your recordings.

02 / Formats

Choose WAV quality or smaller MP3 files

Choose WAV for uncompressed editing quality or MP3 for a compact recording that uses less storage.

03 / Browsers

Save recordings where you need them

Recent Chrome and Edge versions can write directly to a folder you choose. Firefox, Safari, and other compatible browsers save through browser downloads instead.
