How it works

01 / Target size
Reduce image size in KB
The target guides repeated compression. If quality changes are not enough, the image may need fewer pixels. The result always shows whether the selected target was reached.
02 / Formats
Compress JPEG and PNG, or create WebP
Keep the source format or choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP output. JPEG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with white during conversion.
03 / Privacy
Use an image size reducer without uploads
Decoding and compression run locally in your browser. Nanomite does not upload the source or result, and the compressed copy does not preserve EXIF metadata.
Good to know
Quality, dimensions, and file size work together
A very small target can require visible quality loss or lower dimensions. PNG is lossless by design, so photographs often become smaller as JPEG or WebP, while diagrams and transparent graphics may still suit PNG.
Animated PNG and WebP files, SVG, AVIF, batch processing, enlargement, and metadata preservation are not included. Large images can also be limited by available browser memory.
